The Ali Forney Center
Ali Forney Center protects LGBTQ youths from the harms of homelessness and empower them with the tools needed to live independently. AFC serves over 2,000 youths per year through a 24-hour Drop-In Center which provides over 70,000 meals annually, medical and mental health services through an on-site clinic, and a scattered-site housing program. Refracted has partnered with the Ali Forney Center in allocating a percent of ICTYW ticket sales to be contributed in support of their crucial work.
New Alternatives Shelter
New Alternatives Shelter increases the self-sufficiency of LGBTQ+ homeless youth and young adults by enabling them to transition out of the shelter systems to stable adult lives. They do this by providing long term support, weekly case management education services, life skills training, community-building recreational activities, opportunities for self-expression, and programs for HIV+ youth. Refracted and New Alternatives will be co-producing a Pride BBQ on June 20 in celebration of the exceptional work of this organization and their clients.
