Meet the Sound Designers
Meet Joe Palermo—Audio Engineer, Sound Designer, and Interactive Sound Artist! For the past four years, Joe the @soundpilgrim has been the Resident Audio Engineer with The Edge Theater. He’s been recognized at the Cannes Film Festival, the Chicago Merrit Awards, the University of Glasgow for excellence in Design and Design Concepts, and is a proud member of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association. Most notably last year he completed his fifth year designing “The Polar Express” on trains across the country for Rail Events Productions and Warner Bros, and his second year as Resident Designer/Engineer at The Cape Playhouse. During Quarantine his current creative muse is an interactive mural in which one will be able to use a visual input to “play” the mural, like a score.
Emma Wilk is a New York based sound designer and collaborator. Her designs have been heard at New York theaters such as The Public, Theater Row, The Lortel, New World Stages, La MaMa, 59E59, Rattlestick, and HERE. Favorite designs include Monsoon Season, The Heiress, Dog Man: The Musical, and Gorey. She has worked regionally in Washington DC, New England, New Jersey, Upstate NY and Idaho. Member USA 829.
